n6th Degree (Boston, MA)nJulian Peterson (Boston, MA)nCole DeGenova (NYC)nn6th DEGREE (Boston, MA)n6th degree got together to record one of Ryan Nava's demo's for a studio project but continued to play regularly at an underground practice studio and began really locking in with each other. A handful of shows followed and 6th degree is ready to continue hitting you with laid back beats and thoughtful lyrics. All the members in 6th degree are solid players and come from different styles of music. This leads to a tight sound with influences spanning funk, hip-hop, reggae, and dub. They plan to continue writing new material, evolving their sound and taking every chance to play live, be it a venue, a house party, a festival or even on some sidewalk in Boston or NYC.nmyspace.com/songsinthe6thdegreennJULIAN PETERSON (Boston, MA)nJulian Peterson is in love with the passion and elegance of old soul and blues singers. He pays tribute to many great artists- Ray Charles, Al Green, Otis Redding, Muddy Waters, and Freddie King, with a sound that is fresh and engaging. He describes the music he writes as a mix of old and new; music with bluesy melodic lines and passionate lyrics. Peterson's music is a translation of sorts: what soul sounds like in the high mountains of Colorado. Peterson is a singer-songwriter who is drawn to simple arrangements with few supporting band members.n"I want people to leave my concerts moved, hearing something perhaps familiar but dancing a bit, thinking, 'hey somethings there.' I write music for all of us, touching our common experiences of loss, love- what we all go through. Its a way to describe how were related."nwww.myspace.com/julianpetersonnnCOLE DEGENOVAnCole DeGenova is a pianist, vocalist, songwriter, percussionist, poet, and all around chill guy from Chicago. Growing up in a musical family, he began studying music at age 4 and was working professionally as a musician around the city by age 15. Cole has performed with or opened for some of Chicago's top jazz and blues artists including: Kurt Elling, Patricia Barber, Orbert Davis, Jon Faddis, and Corey Wilkes. He was also chosen by the Jazz Institute of Chicago to perform with his trio at the world-famous Auditorium Theater and was selected in 2005 to perform with the All-State Honors Jazz band by the Illinois Music Educators' Association.
