World Cares Center’s Founder and Executive Director leads a panel of established facilities and construction managers from Bloomberg LLC, Turner Construction, F.J. Sciame Construction Co. Inc. and the Department of Design and Construction. Topics will cover the differences between business continuity and disaster management and explore a hybrid approach to synthesizing methodologies to create a “whole of community” focus.
The panel topic is influenced by FEMA administrator Fugate's view “the public is an asset not a liability" and World Cares Center's mission to foster sustainable, locally led disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives. Panelist will discuss shifting perspective to assess and prepare tenants as resilient partners in disaster response and methodologies presented in Orloff’ s Book, Managing Spontaneous Community Volunteers in Disaster http://www.crcpress.com/product/isbn/9781439818336.
