Grassroots Readiness and Response for Seniors
This workshop introduces seniors to the specific skills that enable them to prepare for an emergency, teaches them who the professional response agencies are in their community and enables them to ultimately participate as trained leaders/volunteers in disaster response.
At the end of this training, seniors will walk away with a sense of empowerment over their own disaster preparedness and response. They will know who to contact for the various needs of their community and will learn to become integral volunteers in the recovery process.
Follow-up training and exercises are offered throughout the year so that trained participants can practice and maintain the skills they learned through the workshop.
1.1: Preventing Disasters at Home
1.2: Cooking and Kitchen Safety
1.3: Communications Plan
1.4: Share Your Plan
