Who We Are
World Cares Center (WCC) is a registered 501c3 nonprofit that delivers disaster preparedness and response trainings to empower citizens, youth, seniors, and leaders in communities in the New York Tri-State area, throughout the United States, and abroad.
By ensuring that individuals and agencies are prepared to respond to any sort of emergency situation, WCC alleviates the suffering that can beset communities affected by natural and manmade disasters. We train emergency response managers and local leaders to utilize community resources and coordinate large scale contingency plans in collaboration with other responding organizations that take into account the specific needs of each resident. These trainings place a particular importance on harnessing the potential of Spontaneous Unaffiliated Community Volunteers to assist with relief efforts and allow citizens to act as ready responders instead of victims.
We also educate youth and seniors to prevent accidents and respond appropriately when emergencies do occur. WCC’s preparedness and response initiatives incorporate a “whole of community’ approach to disaster management, and each one of our programs address the unique dynamics and needs of our constituencies. For ten years, WCC has remained dedicated to strengthening individuals and communities, and we continue to grow as populations recognize the importance of planning for the unexpected and being equipped to address any emergency situation safely and effectively.
